James 1:4 (NASB)
4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

Matthew 5:48 (NASB)
48 Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Lord, in the Sermon on the Mount, Christ made clear that we are to be perfect, even as You are perfect. Father, forgive us as a nation and as Your church for  being impatient while You are perfecting us. Cause us Lord to endure, which brings the perfect results You desire for us, so that we lack nothing. In the great name of Your Son, the One who endured all, amen.

James 5:19-20

Lord, thank You for James’ sensitivity to fact that we stray from the truth. Forgive us Father, as a nation and as Your church for all of the straying that we have done. We acknowledge Lord, that we are under judgment from You, both in our nation and in Your church. Cause us Lord, to love our brother enough that we help him turn from the errors of his way, saving his life from destruction, for truly, there is great rejoicing in heaven when one sinner repents (Luke 15:7,10). Lord, we pray in the name of Your Son, who died that we might have life, life abundantly (John 10:10b), amen.

James 5:13-18

Oh Lord, we have become a people of little faith. Your word says the prayer of faith heals, the prayers of the righteous are powerful, that the prayers of the fervent are effective. Father, forgive us as a nation and as Your church, for not realizing that Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, what he prayed, when it is Your will, we can pray too. Lord, strengthen our faith and cause us to bring glory to Your name, by confessing our shortcomings to one another. In the mighty Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, amen.

James 5:12

Father, we have lost the art of our “yes” being “yes” and our “no” being “no.” Forgive us Lord for being a nation, and a church, that can not be relied upon. Lord, cause us to become a body, Your Son’s bride, that is trustworthy of speech. Lord,  we do not want to fall under Your judgment, simply because we are a people whose speech cannot be counted upon. In the great Name of our Lord, whose every word is trustworthy, amen.

James 5:10-11

Lord, thank You for the examples of saints who have suffered with patience. Thank You for the example of Job, and the outcome in his life that came from You. Forgive us Father, as a nation and as Your church, especially in the West, for thinking that when difficulties come our way we should NOT be experiencing them. Lord, cause us to thank You for them, for they are Your will for our life (1 Thessalonians 5:18) and cause us Lord to be very compassionate and merciful, just as You are with us. And cause us Lord to accept what You bring our way. In the Name of Your Son, who suffered with great patience, amen.

James 5:9

Oh Father, You have seen fit in this book, and even in this chapter, to address the issue of us judging others, more than once. Father, forgive us as a nation, and as Your church, for not heeding Your word. We judge, when in fact the Judge, You, is standing at the door. Father, cause us to love unconditionally, without our needing to judge. In the Name of Your Son, who will judge us all, amen.

James 5:7-8

Father, we are so grateful that the coming of Your Son is near, but often Lord, we are impatient. Lord forgive us, as a nation and as Your church, for worrying, rather than having the patience of a farmer. Lord we know that You are the one who brings precious fruit, both out of the ground, and out of our lives, when we but wait upon You. Cause our hearts to be strengthened Lord, as Your Son’s return draws near. In His name, the name of the One whose coming is soon, amen.

James 5:1-6

Oh Lord, whether we are rich or not, we can let wealth ruin us. Lord, when our only fruit is corrosion in our lives, our life, our flesh is a witness against us. Thank You Lord that Your ears hear the cries of the ones we harm by our actions. Forgive us Father, as a nation and as Your church, for fattening our hearts, when our hearts are deceptively wicked, and the reality is that no one can know them, our heart (Jeremiah 17:9). Lord, cause us to weep and wail over miseries that are coming to us, as a nation and as Your church. In the Name of Your Son, the One who saves us in the midst of our trials, amen.

James 4:13-17

Oh Father, we brag in so many ways. We have convinced ourselves that bragging, and calling it planning is not sin. Father, we don’t know what tomorrow holds for us. Forgive us Lord, as a nation and Your church, for boasting in our arrogance, it is evil. Lord,  As we submit to You in this area please teach us what is good to do, giving us the grace to do it. In the Name of Your perfect Son, amen.

James 4:11-12

Father, we thank You that You are sovereign, that You are a just God, that You are the one who saves, and that You are the One who judges. Forgive us Father, as a nation and as Your church for thinking that we have the right to judge our brothers. Cause us Lord to not criticize our brothers. In the Name of Your Son, the One who died for us, amen
