James 1:14 (NASB)
14 But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust.

Matthew 5:29-30 (NASB)
29  If your right eye makes you stumble, tear it out and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30  If your right hand makes you stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to go into hell.

Thank You Lord for always giving us a way of escape, when we are tempted (1 Corinthians 10:13). Forgive us Father, as a nation and as Your church for desiring our own lusts, rather than Your righteousness. Cause us instead Lord, to live AS-IF we had gotten rid of those body parts that we stumble with. In the great Name of Your Son, the One who died that we might have an abundant life, WITHOUT sin, amen

Psalm 119:129-136

Application              Do not let iniquity have dominion over me

Today’s Prayer

Lord, I trust You to guide my steps, not letting sin have dominion over me (Psalm 119:133). You do not lead us into temptation, Praise You Father, You deliver us (Matthew 6:13)! Father, forgive us as a nation, and as Your church, for not taking the way of escape that You always allow us to have, which would allow us to bear up under temptations (1 Corinthians 10:13). We admit Father that when we focus on the Spirit, You give us life and peace, but so often we prefer to focus on the flesh, which brings us death (Romans 8:6). Cause us Lord to be committed to submitting to you, for then satan is resisted, and by Your Spirit he flees (James 4:7).

Psalm 119:121-128

Key Word                Rescue

Today’s Prayer

Lord, we all face times when we wonder where You are, and we strain to see Your salvation in our situation (Psalm 119:123). Lord, thank You for the promise of rescue every time I am tempted to sin…if I would just take the way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13). Forgive us as a nation and as Your church Lord, for rejecting what we have heard, for rejecting Your word, causing our prayers to be an abomination (Proverbs 28:9). Each of Your commands are right. Teach us to hate and turn from every false way (Psalm 119:128)
